Contrary to popular belief Blaze is not named for blaze orange, but for St. Blaise who is the patron saint of wild animals. At her very first field trial she broke away like a rocket, and we knew that from there forward her name would have two meanings! She is retired from field trialing now, but still brings us much pleasure on occasional hunting trips. She still has the drive and desire that she had as a young pup. Just recently she was awared the Bob Estes Memorial Trophy, for winning the Hunting Dog Stake at the Conestoga Vizslas Club's Spring 2009 Field Trial. She is so sweet and a real joy to all that meet her, a true "Velcro Vizsla". Blaze has thrown two awesome litters that have the same competitive drive that she has always displayed (see Progeny). She was ranked #4 on the VCA Top Ten Puppy/Derby list (12/03), and is a littermate to:

Blaze has produced seven offspring that are pointed in the field, five of which were Top Ten Puppy/Derby, and six which are Junior Hunters. Our first litter from Blaze (to Bunker) is a little over one year into their Gun Dog careers, and two have received wins and points in Gun Dog stakes. Our second litter from Blaze (to Dulin) will begin training for Gun Dog stakes later this year. Blaze's last litter was born August 10th, out of BISS CH AFC Comynara Celtic Red Oak MH, and some of them will be making their field and show career debuts in the spring of 2010.
